For many years Yeshe Khorlo USA has received the great benefit of Lopon Phurba Dorji's commitment to teaching and sharing the Dharma. Within the last year, Lopon's role as resident lama in Crestone has changed as he has been designated the Dorje Lopon at Gangtey Gompa in Bhutan. Because of this important new position, Lopon will be making ongoing extended visits to Bhutan. While in Crestone, Lopon continues to be a guide to his North American students. In light of this change, Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche has selected a new resident teacher for Chöying Dzong.
Yeshe Khorlo is excited to be welcoming Khenpo Tenzin Thinley to Crestone in early Spring of 2010. Khenpo earned his title after completing his 9-year shedra studies and accomplishing a 3-year retrat at Gangtey Gompa. Some of us had the pleasure of meeting Khenpo when he visited Crestone with Rinpoche 8 years ago. We are grateful that Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche has chosen Khenpo to come to America for the benefit of our Sangha.
