Gangteng Shedra Magazine

Dear Sangha, Friends and Devotees,
In Gangteng Shedra there are almost 400 monks. Once per year they publish a magazine, which contains articles and poems about the dharma written in the national language Dzonka by the monks themselves. This will be the third year of the magazine, and to be published before Losar.
The magazine distributes to all the shedra monks, of course, and to all the different monasteries, shedras and retreat centers under our Gangteng Rinpoche’s care. Then additional copies are sent to other Nyingma monasteries, and to government-sponsored shedras and monasteries, if there are enough copies. Of course all share copies with others, so reach of this magazine is quite good in Bhutan.
Besides the educational benefit, the magazine also serves to raise awareness of the high level and accomplishment of the students at the Gangteng Shedra, and can help to attract new students and Khenpos. It also strengthens the reputation of the Pema Lingpa Lineage, and lets people to see firsthand that the lineage of the glorious Terton Pema Lingpa is growing stronger.
Each year when production times comes the monks have to beg everywhere for a sponsor. The first year’s costs were from France. Last year was sponsored by Singapore. This year I have told the monks at the shedra that I try to find the sponsorship here in America, from the Yeshe Khorlo members and friends.
The cost in past two years is about US $1500 for 750 copies. The magazine is printed cheaply in black-and-white. If more money can be raised, the monks can be printing more copies to send around, and maybe even color printing. But for now, we must raise $1500 to print at all.
And so, dear friends and students, I am to ask for behalf of the months for donations from you. Any amount will help and be thankful, of course. For all donors will the monks do prayers for their well being and fulfillment of all wishes. All donors of $50 or more will receive names mention in the newspaper. And, for representational gratitude for all donations of $200 or more, these donors will receive a personal copy of the magazine (in Dzongka, of course) signed by the Head Khenpo and all Khenpos and teachers of the shedra, thanking them for outstanding generosity and devotion.
Neal did set up a link on donations page of the Yeshe Khorlo website (or click the donations button below), so the donations of any amounts can be so easy to send All the monks and receivers of the magazine will thanks you so very much for helping and sharing.
